South African Frozen Fish:

Given the extensive list of different species of fish caught off the South African Coast we generally leave it up to our customers to ask the questions as to their specific needs.  Therefore, if you have a specie of fish you are in need of, please send us an email/fax or call and we will do all we can to source, process and package the fish to your unique specifications.  Below are a few fish we currently trade in and have current availability:

• South African Black Sea Bass:  Also known as "Black Ruff" and "Rudderfish", this bass is similar to Chilean Sea bass.  It has a large flake, white flesh, high oil content that lends itself to a wide variety of dishes.

• Orange Roughy:  The orange roughy or red roughy, Hoplostethus atlanticus, is a relatively large deep-sea fish belonging to the slime head family (Trachichthyidae).  Orange roughy has a delicate shellfish-like flavour, with firm, pure white flesh high in Omega 3 Oil. The skin and subcutaneous layer is rich in an oil that can be used in a range of cosmetic and related applications.  For meal ideas using orange roughy, see the Recipes.

• Other fish we are able to source range from Yellow fin Tuna, Gastoria and Hake to name but a few, as stated before we implore you to put us to the test, feel free to ask for any Fish that is indigenous to Southern Africa and we will source the product for you.
